How to get work abroad

  1. List your trade skills, tickets, and years of hands-on work experience.

  3. Take an English test like IELTS if the country asks for it.
  4. Apply through accredited employer lists, sponsor registers, and trade job boards.
  5. Get a written job offer and a signed work contract.
  6. Apply for the work visa with your employer's support.
Licensing: Licensed trades (electrician, plumber, gasfitter) need local registration or licence recognition before working.

Your path to permanent residency

  2. Get your local trade licence or registration sorted early.
